African Handball to host 2028 qualifiers

The African Handball Confederation has decided to establish an Olympic qualification tournament specifically for men, beginning in 2028. This will separate Olympic qualification from the African Championship. Four teams will participate in this tournament: the host country, the African champion, and the two highest-ranked teams in the Africa Cup of Nations. The Africa Championship will continue to determine the teams that qualify for the World Cup, but Olympic qualification will now be decided through this new tournament, allowing for an independent Olympic qualification process starting in 2028.
