Cairo Film Fest: Behind the Sun in Arab Horizons
The article focused on the participation of the film "Behind the Sun" by Tunisian director Aziz Shennawi in the Horizons of Arab Cinema section at the 47th Cairo International Film Festival (November 11-20, 2026). The film, which runs for 80 minutes, tells the story of a widow who protects her son, who suffers from a genetic condition sensitive to sunlight, reaching a point of acceptance that she must allow him to live freely despite his limitations. The festival is considered a major event in the region, featuring 145 films from 64 countries, with an emphasis on the fact that the film is one of seven feature-length narratives in its section. The event also included screenings of a short film exploring psychological and addiction themes by Tunisian director Aziz Shennawi, in addition to Tunisia's participation in special children's programs and non-fiction films currently in development.
