El Gouna Film Fest Jury Member
Tunisian director Amal Alqallati is participating as a jury member in the short film competition at the ninth Gouna Film Festival, held in Egypt from October 15 to 23. This comes after her feature debut film, "Where the Wind Takes Us," won the Golden Star Award for Best Arab Narrative Film in 2025. Additionally, Tunisia's presence at the festival is reflected through the film "Safe Exit" by Egyptian director Mohamed Hammad, which is a co-production among several countries and had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2026. The festival also features three Tunisian film projects in the "Cinema Gouna to Support Film Production" program, including "To the Core" by director Mehdi Albarssawi. Two other projects are in post-production, offering opportunities for collaboration with international filmmakers and funding exceeding $300,000.
