French Football Federation Chief Criticizes Infantino
The president of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo, criticized the distribution method of the 2026 World Cup revenues by FIFA, considering that the share received by participating national teams is insufficient, amounting to approximately 7% of the total revenue. Meanwhile, clubs have received 50% of the revenue from the FIFA Club World Cup. He pointed out that the tournament's revenues reached around 15 billion euros, and many federations lost money after participating, despite the participating teams being among the most profitable in history. Diallo called for a reevaluation of profit-sharing models, based on sporting merit criteria, emphasizing the importance of genuine solidarity among nations and the fair development of football worldwide. He also discussed the need for governance reforms within FIFA and highlighted the importance of having a candidate to compete with Infantino in the upcoming FIFA presidential election, with nominations to be submitted before November 18.
