Tunisia Extends Khayam Al-Turki Sentences
The Court of Appeal in Tunisia announced an increase in the prison sentences issued against political activist and businessman Khaim Turk to 63 years, following rulings in three different cases. The penalties include 45 years for "conspiring against state security," 14 years for money laundering and fraud, and 4 years for tax-related offenses. Additionally, there are financial fines and the confiscation of assets. This comes as part of a judicial pursuit that has continued over several years, highlighting the significance of these sentences within the context of investigations and legal proceedings related to accusations of national security threats and financial corruption.
