France: Protesters March Amid Clashes
Thousands of protesters demonstrated in France on Thursday under the slogan "Anger" to protest rising living costs. Several cities saw clashes with the police, especially in Marseille and Lyon. The protests, which marched toward Place Clichy in Paris, involved the "Yellow Vest" movement, students, environmental activists, and protesters from various sectors. Authorities announced the participation of more than 32,000 people in 140 protests outside Paris, while incidents of break-ins, property destruction, and confrontations with security forces occurred. The authorities allege that the disturbances were caused by "far-left extremists."
