Houthi Attacks Delay Saudi Events
Saudi Arabia is facing security challenges that impact its international activities. The Future Investment Initiative Conference has been postponed until 2027, and the Jeddah Rally has been canceled from the 2026 Middle East Rally Championship, due to increasing Houthi missile and drone attacks from Yemen. This security escalation comes at a time when Saudi Arabia was aiming to strengthen its economic and tourism presence through the organization of global events. The conference, in particular, is one of the largest platforms for attracting investment and promoting projects to diversify the economy. This situation reflects the risks that ongoing security tensions pose to the kingdom's ability to host international events and maintain its image as a hub for business and major gatherings.
