Over 40 civilians among Mali attack casualties
More than 40 civilians in Mali were killed by militants at the end of last week in the Ménaka region in the northeastern part of the country. The attackers targeted camps inhabited by members of the Doshaq tribe, which accuses the Islamic State of being behind the attacks. The assaults were carried out using motorcycles and were in response to recent military operations and attacks by the Azawad Salvation Movement. This comes amid increasing armed conflicts in the region.
