Tunisia Women’s Union Office Unveiled
Rayah Jebri, President of the Tunisian National Union of Women, announced the seizure of office equipment and the meeting hall at the organization's headquarters, following a court ruling issued 14 years ago regarding financial dues from the period between 1987 and 2012, prior to her assuming the presidency of the union. She confirmed that the seizure coincided with summonses from the labor inspection regarding unpaid social coverage and workers' wages. She also revealed that the union received a warning from an association alleging that its recent conference contained insinuations harmful to the organization and national institutions. Meanwhile, activities such as reform efforts, training and development programs, participation in national and international events, and work on a large-scale model farm project funded by significant investments continue. Jebri stated that the situation goes beyond mere struggle and is an ongoing battle, without providing further details about the nature of the seizure or the legal files involved.
