The financial crisis is threatening Club Sportif Sfaxien’s hopes of reclaiming the CAF Confederation Cup title, as players and coaching staff have not been paid for the past three months. A meeting is expected to bring together club officials, members of the Support Committee and representatives of the “Socios” to raise at least two million to cover the costs of the group stage, including trips to Algeria, Mozambique and Mali. Support Committee president Moncef Salami is expected to arrive in Sfax before the end of the week to discuss ways of securing the funding.
