The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that 70,000 tents housing displaced people had been flooded and dozens of walls had collapsed within 12 hours of a low-pressure weather system bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The damage caused injuries, including some serious cases. The office estimated initial direct losses at around $3 million, warned that structurally damaged buildings could collapse, and called for shelter and reconstruction materials to be provided for displaced people.
