The Department of Public Works in Sharjah, in collaboration with the Social Services Department, organized the "You Are Our Blessing" initiative at the Dhiba Al-Hosn branch, in celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, which falls on October 1st. The event included community, entertainment, and dialogue activities aimed at honoring seniors, strengthening intergenerational communication, and sharing experiences. It saw wide participation from employees and volunteers, along with several seniors who expressed their happiness. The activities featured entertainment sessions, discussion panels, and interactive programs focused on supporting the elderly and honoring their contributions to the community. This initiative reflects the Emirate of Sharjah's approach to promoting social cohesion and recognizing the elders as a source of blessing in society.
