Moreno stars in Nations League for Spain
Substitute Mikel Merino led Spain to an important 2-1 victory over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League, securing their qualification to the quarter-finals of Group Three. Merino scored two goals in the second half after the Croatian team opened the scoring early, allowing the Spaniards to achieve their fourth consecutive win and reach 12 points. Croatia, on the other hand, fell back after their humiliating 0-7 defeat to England. With this result, Spain secured a significant advance in the group and officially qualified for the final round, while Croatia's performance was disappointing following their poor showing at the 2026 World Cup.
