The top tennis players have decided to escalate their protest against the prize money value at Wimbledon, as they are demanding an increase in their share from 15 to 16 percent of the tournament's revenue. This comes despite the organizing committee announcing a 20 percent increase in total prize money for this year. The escalation follows a reduction in media interviews before and after matches during the first week, reflecting their desire for greater representation in the financial and administrative decisions of the tournament. This year's total prize money amounts to £64.2 million, with the champions receiving £3.6 million. It is also noted that the organizing committee emphasizes that their unique funding model supports the tournament's sustainability, which has been ongoing for over 150 years.
