Two strong earthquakes struck Venezuela, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, causing widespread damage to infrastructure, the death of 32 people, and injuries to over 700, according to official reports. The earthquakes led to the collapse of parts of the ceiling at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, disrupting air traffic and canceling many flights, as well as creating panic among passengers and staff. Emergency measures were implemented by the government, including the temporary closure of the airport and the declaration of a state of emergency in several states, as rescue and search operations continue for those affected.
