Hala Sedky's defamation conviction approved

The Cairo Economic Court upheld the ruling issued against artist Hala Sedky, fining her 20,000 Egyptian pounds for accusations of slander and libel in a lawsuit filed by Saudi artist Shalimar Shurbatli, wife of Egyptian director Khaled Youssef. The court stated that the final judgment also includes the payment of temporary compensation of 10,000 pounds, along with covering judicial expenses. This decision comes after her conviction in a case related to a dispute over a partnership in a restaurant and café project in Sheikh Zayed, where the case centers around commercial conflicts and criminal accusations.
