Iran tightens Strait of Hormuz transit window
During the past week, the Strait of Hormuz experienced a high level of maritime traffic, with 70 ships passing through—the highest number since the start of the war with Iran. This surge followed the United States lifting sanctions on Iranian oil exports and the International Maritime Organization beginning evacuation operations for sailors and vessels. However, the evacuation efforts have recently stopped after an attack on a ship believed to have been carried out by an Iranian drone, which temporarily halted traffic. It is expected that the movement will decrease again in the coming days, especially amid ongoing security tensions in the region.
