US Official on Iran Strikes and War

The U.S. Central Command announced that the strikes carried out by the American military on sites in Iran were in response to an attack targeting a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. These strikes aim to protect freedom of navigation and to undermine Iranian behavior that the United States has criticized. It was confirmed that the operations targeted missile depots and drone facilities, and that the United States continues to support and ensure compliance with the agreement with Iran, while no widespread resumption of military activity has been announced.
