The Casablanca Court issued heavy sentences in the "Desert Escobar" case related to international drug trafficking. The court sentenced former Eastern Region Council President Abdel Nabi Biyoui to 12 years in prison and Member of Parliament and Wydad club president Said Naciri to 10 years, along with fines and financial seizures totaling approximately 7 billion dirhams. The case dates back to allegations of involvement in a drug smuggling network from Morocco toward North Africa and the Sahel since 2013, based on evidence such as phone recordings and financial transfers.
