The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, stated that the framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon signed in Washington is invalid and constitutes an insult to sovereignty. He emphasized that it should be replaced with a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. Qassem's remarks oppose linking Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon to the disarmament of Hezbollah. His statements come amid escalating internal divisions over the agreement, which was brokered by the Americans, with warnings that it could lead to strife.
