The Syrian Customs authorities confiscated more than 1.3 million captagon pills during the first half of this year, along with 153.3 kilograms of cocaine and 40.4 kilograms of hashish. They also seized counterfeit currency and thwarted the smuggling of hundreds of archaeological artifacts and precious metals, as part of Syria's efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect its national heritage. The Syrian government announced a comprehensive national campaign under the slogan "Syria Without Drugs," aimed at reducing the spread of drugs by enhancing regional cooperation and advancing security control technologies. Since the ousting of Bashar Assad's regime, the Narcotics Control Department has carried out 1,550 operations, resulting in the dismantling of 90 international trafficking networks and the closure of 17 methamphetamine manufacturing labs, along with the seizure of large quantities of drugs and chemical precursors.
