The town of Halhul, north of Hebron, is facing a severe crisis due to the expansion of settlement outposts on its hills, especially atop Jabal al-Jummah, which is one of the highest Palestinian mountains. This has led to the isolation of more than 14,000 dunams of land and caused significant damage to agricultural production, which accounts for 60% to 70% of the town’s local income. Farmers resort to sneaking in at night or coordinating in advance with Israeli authorities to access their grape fields. However, ongoing restrictions and assaults prevent the effective utilization of these lands. There are ongoing settlements' construction and systematic destruction of agricultural wealth through land clearing and delays or obstruction of coordination efforts. Despite these challenges, farmers remain committed to their land and continue farming to preserve the identity of their town amidst plans of judaization.
