The Gaza Peace Authority, established with the approval of the Trump administration, intends to grant itself broad legal immunity from legal action, covering its members, administrative staff, and contractors. A draft resolution envisions protecting them from being prosecuted in Gaza or international courts, with President Trump of the council having the right to waive this immunity by a majority vote of the members. The resolution also permits the acquisition of public properties in Gaza "free of charge," amid a clear exclusion of Palestinian participation or detailed information about how this will be implemented.
