Iran has confirmed that it will not meet with American envoy(s) following renewed fighting, indicating that the conditions for a ceasefire agreed upon two weeks ago must be fulfilled before discussing more complex issues, including the nuclear program. Additionally, both sides remain far apart on a negotiating framework that involves lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for financial incentives, with negotiations set for 60 days to reach a lasting peace. Meanwhile, maritime traffic through the strait has partially resumed, with Iranian officials asserting their right to manage the passage and impose fees later on, while Washington emphasizes its rejection of Iran's attempt to charge fees for crossing the waterway. On the economic front, oil prices have fallen despite ongoing regional tensions, while a report warns of a potential rise in food and fuel prices.
