Algeria's coach, Bosnian-Swiss Vladimir Petković, will kick off his 2026 World Cup campaign with a match against Switzerland, the team he previously coached and with whom he achieved notable results, including reaching the quarter-finals of Euro 2021. After his success with the Swiss national team and his tenure with "Nati" since 2013, his contract with Algeria extends until 2028. He hopes to leverage his knowledge of Swiss football to accomplish a new achievement for the Algerian national team in the World Cup knockout stages.
