After the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, decision-making in Iran is now divided between political and military officials. The Assembly of Experts has selected Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba, as a candidate for the leadership role, despite uncertainties about his involvement in governance and his health status. The actual power remains concentrated in the hands of the Supreme Leader, who heads the system. With his son's influence waning, the main decisions continue to be made by other leaders such as the President, security officials, and military personnel, amidst the absence of a clear leadership after Khamenei’s passing.
