The German Public Prosecutor's Office in Hamburg has filed a lawsuit against Ukrainian Serei K., who is accused of being the mastermind behind the destruction of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the Baltic Sea in 2022. He is suspected of leading a team that planted explosives at the German-Russian strategic gas project, resulting in explosions that destroyed facilities designated for importing gas from Russia, which occurred after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The defendant was arrested in Italy and faces charges related to war crimes. Legal discussions are currently underway regarding the acceptance of the case and his trial.
