Wildfires spread in southern France amid heatwave
A major forest fire broke out in southern France, leading to the evacuation of dozens of residents and the destruction of 800 hectares of land. The fire occurred under difficult weather conditions of drought and strong winds, with firefighting aircraft deployed but facing challenges in controlling it due to the rugged terrain. Firefighting teams also reported two smaller fires in the Ronniak and Lanson Provence areas, amidst expectations of a return of a severe heatwave following a deadly heatwave previously affected Europe.
