Southern France faces forest fires and evacuations
A massive fire broke out in the forests of southern France due to drought and strong winds, leading to the evacuation of many residents and the destruction of approximately 800 hectares of green spaces. Firefighters are working in the hundreds to fight the flames, which are made more difficult by the rugged terrain, amid forecasts of a new heatwave across Europe. Additionally, about 200 people were evacuated from two towns near Marseille due to other smaller fires.
