DW: No grounds for racist petition
Paraguay's national team eliminated Germany from the 2026 World Cup after winning 4-3 on penalties, following Germany's loss in the group stage for the second consecutive major tournament. After missing the decisive penalty kick, player Jonathan Tah received a wave of racist comments on social media, where it was claimed that a petition against immigrant and Muslim players existed. However, DW did not publish any report about such a petition, and the German Football Association denounced these claims, emphasizing its commitment to the values of diversity and respect.
