China successfully conducted a ballistic missile launch from a nuclear submarine in the Pacific Ocean, according to the Chinese military. This move has drawn criticism from New Zealand and Australia, which viewed it as a threat to regional peace, especially since it occurred in waters considered free of nuclear weapons and in accordance with international laws. The type of missile has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be either of the "JL-2" or "JL-3" types, with the latter capable of reaching the U.S. mainland. Both countries expressed concerns over China's military escalation, emphasizing that the test is a source of worry and has an undesirable impact on regional stability.
