Hamza Abdel Karim, the Egyptian player who recently joined Barcelona and participated in the 2026 World Cup, became the youngest Arab and Egyptian to compete in the finals at age 18 years and 165 days. He entered the match as a substitute against Egypt and Belgium and expressed his happiness about the historic qualification, affirming that standing alongside Mohamed Salah was a dream of his. His rapid rise is linked to his sporting family; his father is a former volleyball player, and his aunt is one of the volleyball stars. He began his journey in Egypt before being loaned to Barcelona, where he signed a contract until 2029, following his impressive performances in youth teams and his international career.
