Netanyahu urges US to block Turkey F-35 deal
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the United States not to sell Turkey the F-35 aircraft or engines for its indigenous fighter jet, considering that such sales could destabilize the regional balance of power. He explained that Israel's air superiority, along with the US's role in the region, makes the sale of these weapons to Turkey a threat to regional stability. Turkey is aiming to acquire the American F-110 engines for a stealth fighter jet it is developing domestically, but differences with Washington are hindering its acquisition of the F-35 fighters.
