The article concerns efforts to strengthen the Lebanese Army's presence in two pilot areas in south Lebanon, based on the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel with U.S. support. The goal is to send a message to Iran and the "Shiite duo" that a separation between the Lebanese and Iranian tracks is beginning to take shape, and that there are efforts to establish a committee under a U.S.-Iranian understanding to push forward direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel. This aims to set out a clear mechanism for deploying the army, with monitoring and immediate implementation in case of violations, in order to support Lebanon's political stance and achieve progress in final negotiations, with implications for Iran and Hezbollah's efforts.
