Hamas announced the dissolution of the governmental committee in Gaza after nearly two decades of the group's management of the territory. It confirmed the transition to the "National Committee for Gaza Management," which was formed last January. The decision aims to unify authority, security, and weapons under a single leadership and to gradually transfer governance of the sector. This includes the resignation of the head of the "Emergency Committee" and facilitating the entry of the new committee to carry out its duties, amidst diplomatic efforts and a tense security situation following the recent ceasefire.
