The Israeli army announced the detention of several civilians who attempted to cross the border from Mount Hermon into Syrian territory. It stated that its forces prevented them and handed them over to Israeli police for legal proceedings. The army affirmed that such actions constitute a crime and pose a danger to civilians, calling for strict measures to prevent their recurrence. It is worth noting that Israel occupied the summit of Mount Hermon and parts of Syria following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024.
