The Belgian Football Association announced that it has escalated its complaint against the FIFA Appeal Committee after its appeal regarding the eligibility of US player Folarin Balogun to participate in the round of 16 match at the 2026 World Cup against Belgium was rejected. The committee rejected Belgium's request to annul the player's one-year suspension and confirmed that Belgium is not a party to the original proceedings, thereby preventing it from appealing further. The Belgian FA stated that it has not yet received the reasons for the decision and intends to consider additional legal steps, expressing its dissatisfaction with FIFA's handling of the case and its failure to provide the necessary documentation.
