Reports have indicated that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived in Addis Ababa at the start of an African tour. It is expected that there will be discussions about constructing a large nuclear power plant in Ethiopia with Russian participation, aimed at diversifying energy sources and leveraging Russian expertise in the nuclear field. This visit is part of broader efforts to strengthen economic cooperation, particularly in the energy and mining sectors, and to expand Russia's presence in the African continent as part of its strategy to break isolation and foster collaboration with southern countries.
