The article discussed the United States' success in reaching a disarmament agreement with Hamas, which American President Donald Trump considered a result of U.S. pressure on Iran. Trump explained that this success contributed to a significant shift in Hamas's stance and came after months of them being deemed impossible to achieve. He pointed out that the movement agreed to hand over its heavy weapons on the condition that Israeli forces withdraw from the Gaza Strip—conditions that entail multiple steps, including stopping the aggression and a ceasefire. He also confirmed that Israel is pleased with the agreement, though some obstacles may delay its implementation, as certain Israeli officials believe the government has surrendered without achieving wartime objectives. Meanwhile, Hamas has conditioned the withdrawal of the occupation before disarmament. It is worth noting that the agreement is part of efforts to reduce tension and curb violence in Gaza, with full disarmament before the Israeli army’s withdrawal generally ruled out—an approach which faces opposition from some Israeli parties.
