FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced the cancellation of the plan to establish "FIFA Forward Enterprise," which was set to manage commercial activities and organize FIFA tournaments, including the World Cup rights. This step came after widespread divisions within the football community, as European, North American, and Asian federations expressed their opposition to the project, seeing it as a threat to the unity of the sport. They even threatened to boycott FIFA tournaments if the plan proceeded. The proposed plan involved selling up to a 20% stake in the company for an estimated $4.2 billion. However, with federations reacting strongly and internal support waning, FIFA decided to withdraw the proposal, promising to bring all parties together to work on the comprehensive development of football.
