American defense project with Israel faces criticism
The US Defense Bill proposes expanding military and technological cooperation with Israel to include advanced fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and directed energy, with the aim of strengthening the strategic alliance between the two countries. While supporters believe this will enhance the United States’ ability to develop modern military systems, opponents argue that the expansion could give Israel greater influence over American decisions and diminish Washington's sovereignty—especially after a previous incident where Netanyahu refused to transfer Iron Dome systems to Ukraine. The project depends on discussions in Congress amid concerns about undermining American flexibility in supporting other countries, with proponents asserting that it will not hinder decisions regarding the use or deployment of the developed systems.
