Video - Threat of Israeli settlement expansion into Syria
Reports indicate attempts by Israeli settlers to infiltrate Syrian territory, amid rising calls to establish settlements within Syria. Tensions have increased following threats to create a new settlement, while experts view these actions as a violation of Syria's sovereignty, occurring in coordination with the Israeli right-wing government to impose a new reality on the ground and exert political and financial pressure on Damascus. Israel is exploiting Syria’s fragile political situation after the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime in an attempt to expand military incursions, especially during election seasons, with support from far-right factions.
