Reports indicate that the leader of the Chadian "Samsir" movement, Saleh Adam Ishaq, defected along with several members of the movement and surrendered to the Libyan National Army. This occurred following a reassessment of the movement's direction and accusations that its leadership had strayed from its original objectives and was exploiting members for personal gain. This development comes amid a decline in support for armed groups along the southern Libyan border, coupled with an escalation of joint military operations between Libya and Chad along the border. These efforts aim to dismantle the rebellion and restrict the presence of armed groups in border regions, with expectations that the rebellion in southern Libya will soon be over.
