73,000 Migrants Left Ceuta as Deaths Rise
The city of Ceuta has experienced a mass influx of hundreds of thousands of migrants from Morocco, with approximately 73,500 migrants leaving the city heading back toward Morocco. The death toll has risen to at least 71 people, due to their attempt to swim to the city. Spanish authorities continue search and rescue operations for bodies of drowned individuals in the waters off the coast, amid concerns that there may be additional bodies. It is estimated that the site could accommodate up to 200 bodies. Despite the large influx, most of the migrants voluntarily returned to Morocco.
