Jerusalem Christian Attacks Report
The report focuses on the escalation of hate incidents against Christians in Jerusalem. During the recent "Jerusalem Day" parade in the Old City, more than 12 cases of spitting, verbal targeting, and physical assaults were recorded, with the frequency increasing compared to the past. Monitoring organizations documented 107 anti-Christian incidents in the first half of 2026, including insults and trash-throwing. It is noted that the rise in extremist rhetoric among some Israeli youth and a lack of knowledge about Christian history have contributed to the increase in these attacks. The Israeli government is facing criticism for not taking sufficient action to curb these phenomena. Although the majority of Israelis oppose hostile acts, surveys have shown a rise in negative attitudes toward Christianity, especially among younger and more religious demographics.
