Lebanon-Israel talks to restart in Rome
The seventh round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel resumes in Rome under American sponsorship, with the participation of Lebanese political, military, and legal delegations. The aim is to discuss a ceasefire and reduce Israeli attacks, particularly excavations and explosions in the southern border regions of Lebanon. The talks also cover proposals to establish new experimental zones for Israeli withdrawal, including areas such as Bint Jbeil and Khiam south of the Litani River. Emphasis is placed on implementing the previously agreed "Framework Formula" agreement, which stipulates a gradual Israeli withdrawal in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups, despite ongoing Israeli assaults and heightened tensions along the border.
