Japanese officer regrets embassy storming
The 24-year-old Japanese officer, Kodai Morata, expressed his remorse during his trial session in Tokyo after storming the Chinese embassy in Japan while wielding a knife, an incident that occurred on March 24th. He was charged with illegal entry and threatening embassy staff, and the court declined to grant bail due to the risk of evidence tampering or fleeing. Morata climbed the embassy wall and threatened Chinese diplomats, leading to his arrest in a case that prompted an official protest from the Chinese embassy. So far, the Japanese government has not taken any additional formal actions and has only stated that the incident is "regrettable."
