Qalandia Raid Raises Dismantling Concerns
The Israeli occupation forces launched a large and intense assault on the Qalandia Camp north of Jerusalem, supported by military vehicles and bulldozers. All entrances to the camp were closed, and a comprehensive siege and curfew were imposed, disrupting prayers, daily activities, and commercial operations within the area. Israel stated that the operation aims to thwart terrorist infrastructure and undermine the organizational capabilities of armed factions, as part of its efforts to maintain security control over the region. Qalandia Camp is one of the most frequently targeted areas, serving as a main hub connecting Jerusalem and Ramallah. It is continuously subjected to raids and arrests as part of the occupation’s attempt to dismantle the demographic and geographic fabric of the camp, bolster the "Greater Jerusalem" project, and tighten control over the security and economic borders of the Palestinian surroundings.
