Israel applies military pressure on Lebanese negotiator
Lebanese-Israeli negotiations were held under American sponsorship in Rome, and Israel caused an escalation by issuing an evacuation warning for the town of Al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon after a bombed house exploded, resulting in the death of two soldiers and injury to seven others. The negotiations are characterized by difficulty in resolving political and border issues, with hesitation in reaching an agreement on verification and inspection mechanisms, despite Israel's acknowledgment of the delineated land borders with Lebanon. Lebanon has also demanded a renewal of the complete ceasefire for 60 days, amid ongoing field escalations and the resumption of military warnings.
