Human rights groups cite Israeli journalist killing as war crime
Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and Legal Agenda have accused Israel of deliberately targeting Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil and colleague Zeinab Faraj, considering it a war crime. Khalil was killed in an Israeli airstrike while covering events in southern Lebanon, with reports indicating Israeli forces knew they were civilians. Despite attempts to rescue them, delays and direct attacks on rescue efforts resulted in Khalil's death, with her body recovered hours after the strike.
